Four State Studs in German have joined forces to acquire one of the most exceptional and in-demand English Thoroughbred stallions in Europe for German riding horse breeding: Jack the Robin xx.
Since the beginning of March 2025, Jack the Robin xx has been jointly owned by the State Studs of Celle, Marbach, Neustadt-Dosse, and Warendorf. Fresh semen from this large-framed English Thoroughbred with a high jumping ability can be ordered from all four State Studs and will be shipped from the insemination station at the State Stud of Celle. The stallion is recognized by all German riding horse associations.
According to the State Stud farm managers, Dr. Axel Brockmann, Dr. Astrid von Velsen-Zerweck, Dr. Henning Frevert, and Dr. Felix Austermann; “We consider it one of the most important tasks of the state stud farms to offer breeders the widest possible variety of bloodlines.”
These managers had had their eye on Jack the Robin xx for some time. Bred in Ireland by Ann Lambert and successfully presented at the 2018 Irish Sport Horse licensing, the Belgian stallion owner Wim Schoukens discovered the athletic dark-bay stallion in 2022 and imported him to Belgium. He covered at his artificial insemination station for several years and was very well received by international sport horse breeders. Wim Schoukens is now closing his artificial insemination station after many decades and had been looking for an ideal home for his favorite stallion, Jack the Robin xx. He offered him to the German State Stud Farms, and the state stud farm managers seized the opportunity to bring him to Germany. “Jack the Robin xx is an exceptional stallion with the best manners,” reports Wim Schoukens. “He has the quick reflexes at the jump, endurance, and toughness we need today in breeding and sport, because he has been bred for these qualities for generations...
