The Board of Directors of the Société Hippique Française yesterday elected Michel Guiot as their new president, replacing Yves Chauvin who had expressed a wish to resign from his role. Michel Guiot is a director and vice president of the Selle Français studbook, as well as chairman of the SHF Breeding Commission.

Based in the Ardennes, Guiot is an equine veterinarian specializing in reproduction, and head of Haras de Talma (Selle Français and Thoroughbred showjumping breeding) and one of the main French owners of sport horses as co-manager of France Etalons. He was for seven years president of the Regional Association of Sport Horse and Pony Breeders of Champagne-Ardenne.
