For five days in a row, a 'virtual' audience will be able to enjoy the best that KWPN has to offer to breeding and equestrian enthusiasts. This year, the 2021 KWPN Stallion Show goes online with a phenomenal program.
In recent months a great deal of hard work behind the scenes has been devoted to designing the 2021 KWPN Stallion Inspection, which will take place in Ermelo thanks to permission being granted by this municipality. Naturally, everything will be organized according to strict protocols, and no expense has been spared to optimize the experience within existing guidelines for our members. A great many presentations have already been pre-recorded to speed the flow of people at the National Equestrian Center.
From February 2 to 6, you will not only see the second viewing of stallions 'live' on the track, but can also indulge in pre-recorded presentations according to KWPN norms. The complete KWPN Stallion Inspection 2021 can be followed online at kwpn.nl and kwpn.tv.
Showjumping stallions on Tuesday and Wednesday
The three-year-old jumping stallions will kick off on Tuesday, February 2. In addition to the second-round viewing, two breeder premium awards on behalf of the Friends of the KWPN are also in the program. Over the past year, four breeders have each earned a premium for the top three of their breeding products on the WBFSH ranking. Wonderful interviews have been recorded with these proud breeders, which will be broadcast during the KWPN Stallion Show. On Wednesday, February 3, the showjumping stallions will once again appear and provide one of the day's highlights when Den Bosch breeders are typically on the edge of their seats. The jumping stallions approved in 2020 will be presented via pre-recorded video, followed by the Breeder of the Year ceremony and the KWPN Select Sale for jumping stallions.
Dressage stallions and Gelder stallions
On Thursday, February 4, the dressage and Gelder stallions make their appearance for the second-round viewing. Likewise, the Breeder of the Year awards will be broadcast, this time honouring dressage and Gelder horse breeding. The Gelder stallions approved in 2020 will also be presented on Thursday, as well as a beautiful sport video showing the clinic of Alex van Silfhout and Febe van Zwambagt. The following day, Friday, February 5, after the second-round viewing, you can enjoy the latest generation, the 'J' year, the seven-year-old World Cup stallions, as well as older stallions on the road to Grand Prix status. These sections – according to restrictions, of course – have been pre-recorded at the KWPN Center. At the end of the day, it will be all about the KWPN Select Sale.
Ability test powered by Blom and Anemone Horse Trucks
As a sport and breeding enthusiast, Saturday, February 6 will offer an alternative presentation. Due to the cancellation of the stallion competitions last season, ability tests for stallions have been organized for those who had a competition obligation within the selection program. In the morning the jumping stallions born in 2015 and 2016 will present themselves in the ability test, while the afternoon will be dedicated to dressage stallions within this age group. The day will also introduce the new KWPN clothing line.
Studio program
This studio program will include a large number of conversations that will be broadcast live when host Charlotte Decker sits down with various guests, including the breeders of Horse of the Year in dressage and jumping, as well as the Gelder Horse of the Year. Members of the General Board, the Breeding Council, and the Members' Council will also sit down for discussions on breeding-related topics. Do you have a question you would like to ask one of them? Please pose your question in advance via redactie@kwpn.nl.
For foreign visitors to the Livestream, there will be an English explanation of the participating stallions in the second-round viewing, in the various videos, and the studio program will be accompanied by English subtitles.
Even without your physical presence, the Online KWPN Stallion Inspection 2021 promises to be an interesting, valuable, and fun week. So make a note of the dates: February 2-6, since you won't want to miss out on this edition of the KWPN Stallion Inspection.
