On the morning of March 4, a personal friend and long-time correspondent of World Breeding News, Sonja Grob-Wolfensberger passed away at the age of 72.
Sonja was a multi-talented horsewoman for most of her life, as a board member of the Swiss Concours Riders Association (VSCR) for 28 years, and as central president of the association for 20 years. She also served as president of a ZKV delegate assembly.
Professionally, and alongside her stellar work with World Breeding News, Sonja worked as a correpondent and photographer for the Swiss magazine PferdeWoche, both at home in Switzerland and abroad since its founding in 1997.
We and the entire Swiss horse world have lost an extraordinary personality who was known for her charm and her lovable nature. Unfortunately, she had been fighting a serious lung disease in recent years – a battle she lost this week.
We offer our deepest condolences to her family and friends in Switzerland and around the world, and Monty, her beloved poodle.
