Thanks to the establishment of strict hygiene protocols, the authorities have granted permission for the the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch e.V. to host their 2020 stallion licensing, scheduled to take place November 22-25.  There will be a division between the dressage and jumping stallions, and the subsequent sale will take place as a 'hybrid' auction, with both live and online bidding available to prospective buyers.

In order to comply with sanitary regulations the event days have been partitioned, with all presentations being coordinated by responsible committees. Limited access to the arena will only be afforded to a very small number of visitors.

A total of 77 riding horse stallions will face the judgement of the licensing commission in Münster-Handorf: 49 dressage and 28 jumping stallions. The North Rhine-Westfalian state stud stallion, Zoom, is represented in the collection with eight offspring. The reigning Bundeschampion, Secret, is also well represented with three offspring in his first licensing year. The proven sires Benicio and Vitalis will each present three direct offspring, while the blood of trademark stallion Florestan I flows through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, on both his maternal and paternal side, in the veins of numerous licensing candidates. The popular Cornet Obolensky presents three direct sons, with two further offspring being provided by his son Cornado I, as well as one by his grandson Comme le père.
