With over 25 years of experience in breeding – 21 years at the Prudnik State Stud, four years at the Golejewsko Horse Stud, and an internship at Kirsten Rausing’s Lanwades Stud – one of the best Polish experts in her field, Katarzyna Wiszowaty has joined the fastest growing breeding enterprise in Poland. That’s how Mateusz Cichon of Cichon Stallions announced her appointment.
Q What is Katarzyna Wiszowaty’s role within the infrastructure of Cichon Stallions?
First of all Katarzyna will search for and attract new clients by offering her professional consulting when it comes to selecting the right stallion for a specific mare. There are already professional and well informed breeders, but our main market is with amateur breeders who find it difficult to define their breeding goals and make the right choice of stallion. Thanks to Katarzyna’s experience and knowledge, we will be able to provide a complete analysis of their mare’s origins, conformation, gaits, and her options for use, then we can recommend the perfect stallion to increase the chances of producing the right class of offspring. Katarzyna will also play a leading role in the selection of foals for this year’s Cichon Foals Auction & Selection and will represent us at all the breeding events in Poland and abroad.
Q You have expanded your offer by adding showjumping stallions from Schockemohle Deckstation? How challenging is that and what are your expectations for this cooperation?
It is a great honour to be appointed as the official representative of Deckstation Schockemöhle, and recognizes the two-and-a-half years of our breeding activities, as well as our collaboration with Helgstrand Dressage. We have worked hard to reach a position as a credible and trusted partner, but it is a huge challenge since we have increased significantly the number of stallions that we are offering – receiving more orders and inquires, so have more logistical work to do. Hopefully this collaboration will develop in the same way as our work with Helgstrand. Our goal for next season, with the help of Schockemöhle’s specialists, is to bring a high quality jumping stallion to Poland..To read the complete article you need to be a subscriberCLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE TO BREEDING NEWS
