It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Pat Campbell.

For nearly seven decades Pat worked tirelessly for the equine industry, and was recognized in 2014 as a recipient of Her Majesty The Queen's Award for Equestrianism.  correspondent. With many friends and colleagues in the international horse world, Pat was a past chairman of The British Horse Society, the BHS Horse and Pony Breeds Committee (from which the 826 Equine Studbooks Association was developed) and various other organisations to which she dedicated her life and earned great respect.

Pat was also a dynamic fundraiser – donating thousands of pounds to charities – including a sponsored parachute jump to mark her 80th birthday in 2013 saying, at the time, she wanted to 'do something special' for charity, even though she hated heights!

With an international network of contacts, including the EU SANCO committee having been involved in many of the consultations about equine passports over the years, Pat will perhaps be best remembered among Warmblood breeders as an enthusiastic advocate for native breeds, as well as her work as a grading judge or visiting breed expert.

Few people have dedicated so much of their time, energy and expertise to helping others, with no personal or financial reward. A lady of principle as well as a generous and knowledgeable friend.

We extend our sincerest condolences and thoughts to her family, and a grateful reflection of her many selfless accomplishments for the whole equestrian world over the years.
