After an exciting CCI4* cross-country day in wonderful early summer weather, visitors to the DSP Eventers auction experienced an atmospheric evening in the well-filled historic riding arena of the main and state stud farm.
Auctioneer Hendrik Schulze-rückamp was able to attract numerous bids from the room and also via the online system, as the 17 four-legged offers changed hands at an average price of €21,382, the last frozen semen of the great Thoroughbred Heraldik xx was sold to a breeder in Lower Saxony for an impressive €8,000, bring the overal sales tally to €363,500.
The fantastically beautiful Chubana, a daughter of Chubakko x Lord Fauntleroy (bred by Karl Döring, Schlitz; owned by Lieselotte Müller, Schwäbisch Gmünd) topped the price table. The bay mare, demonstrating equal talent in both movement and juming, was hotly sought after by bidders from Great Britain and the USA, with the latter winning the contract for €46,500.
Approved three-year-old stallion Champ (Canoso x Stan the Man xx (bred by Franz Semler, Dietenheim) impressed with his extraordinary jumping talent. In the future, he will be available to breeders at the Marbach Main and State Stud, where his maternal grandfather and the excellent line of mares were also based. Two mares followed in the price ranking at €27,000 apiece: Senorita (Ramiro B x Fines xx; bred by Reitschule Jung GbR); and Colorette (Colorit x Conteur; bred by Dieter Preiß, Herbrechtingen) will be used by young riders in sport in the future.
Overall, the price structure was very balanced, with eight horses selling for €20,000 and more. Most of the candidates were sold within Germany, alth ough two horses each went to customers from the USA and Great Britain... To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
