Longines WBFSH Breeder Awards 2021

1775

The long-awaited Longines WBFSH Breeder Awards to honour the top breeders in dressage, showjumping, and eventing took place in Mannheim, Germany, last weekend. Held on the beautiful grounds of the Mannheim Maimarkt, it's the first time these awards have been hosted outdoors.

Marion Moser, Longines Brand Manager Germany, presented each breeder with a timeless piece from the exquisite Master Collection. The breeders also received a WBFSH certificate from WBFSH President Jan Pedersen, and a branded WBFSH Breeder of the Year blanket, kindly supplied by HKM Sports. The representatives of the studbooks of the horses were present to support their breeders: Dr Norbert Camp (Chairman of the Board Trakehner Verband), Rudi Eerdekens (Director Belgian Warmblood Studbook), and Dr Maximilian Slawinski (Vice Chairman of the Board Holsteiner Verband).

While the breeders were being honoured in Mannhaim, their horses continue to shine. TSF Dalera and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (GER), reigning Olympic and European gold medallists, recently won the FEI Dressage World Cup (CDI-W) in Leipzig with a score of 90.836%.

H&M Indiaia and Malin Baryard-Johnsson (SWE) are back home in Sweden after competing in St. Tropez last month, finishing fifth in the 1m50 CSI3* Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, London 52 won Badminton Horse Trials with Laura Collett (GBR), on the same day as the awards ceremony, having achieved the lowest ever score in Badminton's 70-year history with just 21.4 penalties.

The WBFSH rankings are based on validated FEI results and produced for the top breeders, studbooks, and sires in the Olympic disciplines. They are set at zero at the start of every year (October 1), and run on a fixed 12-month cycle ending on September 30.
