DSP ‘Berlin Air’ auction top price for energetic son of Escamero

‘Berlin Air’ is a song written more than a century ago and is still the unofficial anthen of the capital city today. It begins with the phrase “Berlin! When I just hear the name, I have to laugh with delight...”, which were the sentiments of the DSP marketing team after this event premiere.

Taking place at Hof Bernadotte in Ruhlsdorf, just outside Berlin, the auction saw a 100% sell rate, with a top price of €21,000, and an average of €8,542. It ran concurrently with a major dressage tournament featuring classes for riding horses up to Grand Prix. The hospitality team was led by host Julia Voigtländer, herself a dedicated breeder of successful German Sport Horses, which further contributed to the positive atmosphere.
The highest price of the auction evening, at which the 12 young candidates toured the large arena alongside their dams at this lovingly decorated showground, was achieved by Hendrik Schulze Rückamp for his energetically paced stallion prospect with the apt auction name Energy Berlin. The bay is a son of Escaneno, who has already qualified for the Bundeschampionat in dressage with top marks. He is out of Hallo Negra (Negro), who has four half-siblings successful at advanced level alone, and was bred and exhibited by Gabriele Eder from Osterhofen, Bavaria. She had every reason to celebrate as a new customer from the USA placed an online bid of €21,000 for her bundle of energy...
