Cardento has taken home the title every year since 2013, but all that changed last year when Diarado (Diamant de Semilly x Corrado I) was named Stallion of the Year by Swedish Warmblood – and this year he held onto his throne.
Diarado has 401 SWB-registered offspring, with 85 shown in young horse tests, 17 in riding horse tests, and 160 having competed. Diarado was awarded Elite status in 2019 for his excellent inheritance in Swedish Warmblood. Seventeen offspring have competed in high-level show-jumping, with Diarado’s Rose ELiTH, After Eight, and Tornado at 1m60, and Hästkullens DiMarabou, Dior CC, Mr Vain GJ, Disa DM, and Diarado’s Love ELiTH in 1m50 classes. He has another nine SWB offspring in 1m45 showjumping.
Bred by Klaus Kristensen, Diarado (2005) has also produced five approved sons for Swedish Warmblood. Daquar CC 1236, Diero Lux N 1280, and Mr Vain GJ 1234 have all competed themselves at 1m50 level, and been awarded Elite status for their inheritance. Dylan N 1312 and Rimaro van de Looise Heide 1434 are two other sons approved for Swedish breeding. Diarado currently ranks 12th in the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses ranking for sires in showjumping, and first in eventing.
