Philippe LE JEUNE (BEL) riding Vigo d'Arsouilles

INTERNATIONAL (by Gemma Alexander/Pacific Jumping Breeding) During the 2017 stallion approvals of the Holsteiner, Hanoverian, Selle Français, KWPN, BWP, sBs, Zangersheide, Westfalian, OS and Danish Warmblood, Cornet Obolensky/ex Windows van het Costerveld (Clinton - Rabanna vh Costerveld x Heartbreaker) had the most sons approved – a staggering total of 17. The second most represented sire was Kannan (Voltaire - Cemeta x Nimmerdor) with 15, followed by Vigo d’Arsouilles (Nabab de Reve - Illico d’Arsouilles x Fleuri du Manoir) with 10, and Diamant de Semilly (Le Tot de Semilly - Venise des Cresles x Elf III) with nine sons approved. They were, respectively, bred by Thierry Degraeve, M.G. Kramer vd Meer, Didier Viaene and Jules Mesnildrey.

The top five was rounded out with a tie between Air Jordan (Argentinus - Mandoline x Matador) and Cascadello I (Casall - Viviana x Clear way) with six approved sons apiece.

Three stallions were each represented by five approved sons: Casall (Caretino - Kira XVII x Lavall II), Balou du Rouet (Baloubet du Rouet - Georgia x Continue) and Toulon (Heartbreaker - Nikita x Jokinal de Bornival).

There followed a group of eight stallions with four sons approved: Harley VDL (Heartbreaker - Larthago x Carthago), Action-Breaker (Heartbreaker - Jarme van’t Steentje x Lys de Darmen), Baloubet du Rouet (Galou- bet A - Mesange du Rouet x Starter), Bisquet Balou van de Mispelaere (Balou du Rouet - Philippa 15 x Polydor), Thunder van de Zu- uthoeve (Argentinus - Jura van St. Maarten x Nimmerdor), Aktion Pur Z (ARS Vivendi - Parodie x Pilot), Darco (Lugano de la Roche - Ocoucha x Codex) and L’Arc de Triomphe (Landor S - Praeludium x Pilot).

Noteworthy in this list is Almé, with no fewer than 12 descendants via his grandson Baloubet du Rouet, great grandson Balou du Rouet, and great-great grandson Bisquet Balou. Going back an additional generation to Ibrahim, we can add Action-Breaker to this legendary SF bloodline.
