It was a premiere that became a complete success when the Holsteiner Verband opened its doors on March 22/23 for the first Holsteiner Stallion Days in Elmshorn.

The programme included a joint stallion presentation of Verband and privately owned stallions in combination with the Holsteiner spring auction and a stallion grading under saddle, a joint platform for stallion owners, breeders, clients, and friends of the Holsteiner horse.
The highlight was certainly the joint presentation of Verband and privately owned stallions, and saw the event being kicked off with the ‘stable chat’, inviting visitors to view the stallions close up and without saddle. Stallion owners had the opportunity to o chat with breeders, discussing breeding options and giving recommendations. The stable aisles were packed with people talking shop and eagerly chatting everywhere.
Afterwards, 30 or so stallions between three and 18 years of age were presented under saddle, with a running commentary provided by Henner Hoeschen and international jumping rider and Derby winner, Nisse Lüneburg.
“We are absolutely happy with the event, and have had positive feedback from quite a lot of breeders,” said breeding director Stephan Haarhoff. “The stable chat as well as the presentation itself found great favour with the visitors. The majority of the stallions presented themselves in the best light in the very well-attended Fritz-Thiedemann-indoor arena,” he concluded – delighted to sum up the event which was well attended by enthusiastic visitors happy to avail themselves of the opportunity...
