In the beginning, Uriko was considered an insider tip amongst breeders. But these times are long gone, with the Holsteiner Verband (Elmshorn)-owned stallion having produced show-jumping offspring attracting attention at international level for some time now.

The 15-year-old Uriko is by Untouchable out of a Lavaletto x Carthago dam from Holsteiner mare familiy 4172 and was licensed for breeding at Elmshorn in May 2011. He was approved to undergo licensing based on the breeding committee’s decision to accept the 30-day test as a positive performance test, and he underwent stallion performance testing the very same year. From his first crops he has had state premium mares and licensed stallions, including Uno I, reserve champion of the 2017 stallion grading, and United Way, who is out of Derby winner Carassina (by Concerto II). A son of United Way again, Update, presented perfectly modern and athletic at the 2021 Holsteiner main grading... To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
