So One

The very first foal of the Verden Online Auction sold for the top price of €51,000 to an American buyer. Bred by Willem Klausing and exhibited by A. Hartley, So One (So Unique x Diamond Hit) comes from one of the best dam lines, which includes successful stallions, awarded mares, and numerous dressage and jumping horses who can be traced back to foundation mare, Pension. The chestnut, who is equipped with great genes and impressive movement, will remain in Germany and grow up with Eva Möller, who won the Bundeschampionat and the FEI/WBFSH dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses with his sire, So Unique.

A Bavarian breeder secured the second highest-priced foal, Viva Las Vegas (Viva x Foundation), who was bred by Reinhard Baumgartner, for €20,500. He is the third foal out of his dam, Formidable, who has sold for a substantial price from the Verden catwalk.

The top-price for a showjumper went to Blue Star (Big Star x Diacontinus), bred and exhibited by Eggerk Groenewold, who has a world-class pedigree and was also purchased by Bavarian buyers for €14,000.

Although this auction experienced a short interruption due to technical problems at the beginning of the final phase, managing director Wilken Treu said; "Numerous visitors were present during all four days of the online auction. For the majority of the collection we had of course the most 'traffic' on Saturday."

The next Verden online auction planned by the Hannoveraner Verband will include another highly interesting collection from the 2020 vintage from June 3-6, with further auctions slated in an ongoing series from June 10-13 and July 1-4. In addition, a sale of exquisite riding horses will take place from the comfort of your armchair on Saturday, May 30 – with personal inspections and try-outs being organized at the sales centre in Verden from May 18.
