Within seven days the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses and the Belgian Championship for Seniors 2022 will start in Lanaken. It is a supreme event that has such great appeal to every jumping enthusiast. Here sport and breeding go hand in hand, but it’s not only the scene for the World Championship for Young Horses and the Belgian Championships, as the FEI Sires of the World and the Studbook Zangersheide Stallion Inspection are also scheduled to take place. The evenings are habitually reserved for the Zangersheide Quality Auctions that for years already have acted as the grand finale of a busy auction season. Last year the world record was broken when a son of the Olympic Fit For Fun sold for a stunning €160,000.

This year Zangersheide announces the introduction of a new auction on Thursday evening September 22. After a 15-year absence the young horses have made their way back into the Zangersheide Quality Auction. In 2007 it was the last time they filled the foal collections with a promise of top sport horses to go under the hammer. In that year there were top prices for stars such as Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z who sold for €52,000 and subsequently excelled under Julia Houtzager-Kayser at 1m60. The price of €74,000 was paid for VDL Groep Quinthago who went on to win the five-star GP of Helsinki with Leopold van Asten. The auctions proved a huge success and over time we learned that every collection harboured some true five-star GP winners!

In 2022 we once again offer a collection of two-, three-, and four-year-olds that exceed everyone’s expectations. According to Judy Ann Melchior, "The ambition is to muster the very best that the market has on offer in one auction, and I’m convinced that we have pulled it off. Our collection contains a fine mix of two-, three-, and four-year-old stallions and mares with every single one ranking among the greatest promises of their generation. All of them Zangersheide-registered horses with owners from all across Europe. For instance in Croatia we found Don Julio T40 Z, a Diamant de Semilly out of Centa de Muze and so the brother of our stud stallion Toèmme de Regor Z. Easy Dream van't Roosakker Z, who jumps so fantastically, is a daughter of Eldorado vd Zeshoek TN and was born at Mark Kluskens’ van't Roosakker stud farm. Then there is Touch of Cera du Maillet Z, a Taloubet Z from the pedigree of no one less than Olympic Fein Cera..."

On Thursday, Friday as well as Saturday the auctions start at 19:30 hrs. Interested buyers can reserve seats via Auction@zangersheide.com but can also join us online to place bids on their favourite lots in real time via www.zangersheide.auction.
