The Stichting Nederlands Olympiade Paard NOP has once again secured two horses that will thus be retained for TeamNL up to and including the 2024 Olympic or Paralympic Games in Paris. They are I’m Special N and Caramba.
The 11-year-old mare I’m Special N (I’m Special de Muze x VDL Oramé, breeder W.J. Noordman, Zwolle, owners Janneke Boonzaaijer and Bas de Grood Sandhoeve Stables) is the second eventing horse that has been committed by the NOP. In 2023, Janneke became Dutch eventing champion showing the mare I’m Special N. The duo also competed several times in FEI Nations’ Cup shows for TeamNL.
The 17-year-old gelding Caramba (Tuschinski x Gribaldi, breeder A. Faber-Hietkamo from Kullumerzwaag, owner Yvette Vreeburg) is shown by Britney de Jong and is the fifth NOP horse in the para-dressage discipline.
Stichting Nederlands Olympiade Paard (NOP Foundation) has for many years been making efforts to retain potential Dutch team horses for TeamNL riders. Owners of horses laid down by the NOP receive financial compensation to keep their horses for Dutch riders. Realising agreements with owners of top horses has been made possible thanks to the good cooperation with sports umbrella NOC/NSF.
