The SWB Trophy presented by Hyperion Stud was held during the Gothenburg Horse Show in Gothenburg, Sweden. Some of Sweden’s top young SWB-bred horses competed against each other, starting with showjumping for six-year-olds followed by dressage for six- and seven-year-old horses on February 19, 2025.
Hyperion Stud is an American stud farm focused on international sport horse breeding. The stud keeps horses in Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden in addition to bases in both Virginia and Florida, USA. Hyperion Stud breeds and produces sport horses but also buys and develops horses for sale to suitable riders. According to Maucca Kärki, “The driving force behind Hyperion’s operations is breeding and sport in perfect harmony and, of course, great teamwork; for us, they are equally important.”
Blue Sky (SWB) 9779 6yo SWB Trophy winner
Blue Sky (SWB) 9779 (2019: Fidelio Ask - Blue Starlight SK (SWB) x Algot (SWB)), for breeder and owner Johan Åhlund), placed third in the Breeders Trophy for five-year-old horses at the SWB Equestrian Weeks in October. He and rider Elin Jansson won the SWB Trophy for six-year-old showjumpers as this year’s Gothenburg Horse Show kicked off. Eleven horses competed among this age group over jumps up to 1m25.
“Blue Sky has gone from strength to strength,” Elin Jansson says. “Now he will get some lighter work. His next goal is the SWB Stallion Performance Test in March at Strömsholm.” Elin Jansson runs her own business at Loviseholm Stables, where she produces horses and stallions for showjumping. Blue Sky jumped with confidence and was one of five clear horses who made it to the jump-off where he once again had a clear round with the fastest time.
Breeder Johan Åhlund’s partner, Sandra Kåregren, was moved to tears when she realized Blue Sky was the winner: “We are so proud of him. I knew all along that he would be a star. Blue Sky is a very kind and clever horse,” she said. “He is the result of three generations of breeding at our farm, and we really look forward to SWB’s Stallion Performance Test in March.”

Second placed in the class, and also second at the Breeders Trophy in October, was the gelding Von Chap Son (SWB) (2019: Diamant de Semilly - Chapalla x Chacco-Blue; bred by Feldborg Nielsen Läkarpraktik AB and Jonny Nilsson, owner Björn Lundgren), ridden by Jüri Sokolovski.
