SWITZERLAND (by Sonja Grob) In Frümsen-Sax in the Upper Rhine Valley at the eastern end of Switzerland, the presentation and sale of the Swiss Sport Horse Association took place in early October. Sixteen horses were shown and could be ridden at the stud Rütimann.

Eight of them were from the top sire Karondo com Schloesslihof, owned by Werner and Madeleine Rütimann. Karondo (Karaconda - Caletta vom Schlösslihof x Corleone) has best European blood and an outstanding jumping ability. He has 50 victories and more than 200 further placings in classes up to Grand Prixlevel. The horses from this bloodline at the presentation were: three by Karondo com Schlösslihof; Kara-wanga HCW (out of Wangarte HCW x Wango des Prés), mare, born 2004; Le Karonda vom Steig (out of Colour Lavada vom Steig x Coleur Rubin, mare, born 2009; Karino (out of Prima- Vera x Palestro), gelding born 2010. Meanwhile, the following were all out of Karondo vom Schlösslihof dams: Centovalli von Schlösslihof (Con Spirito R - Kabuki v Schlösslihof), geld- ing, born 2006; Collino von Schlösslihof (Collindro R - Karondessa v Schlösslihof), gelding, born 2009; Clou (Collindro R - Karina du Purga), gelding, born 2011; Cash von Saxerriet (Cassi- lano - Kassandra), gelding, born 2011; and Carrera von Saxerriet (Crunch - Kassan- dra), mare, born 2012.

Karondo son, Davidoff

Since 2006, Davidoff von Schlösslihof (out of Carelia v Schlösslihof x Calando II) has been a licensed stallion in Switzerland. This Karondo offspring won the Swiss Horse final again this year with his rider Niklaus Schurtenberger – their second victor y after 2013. His owner Werner Rütimann said; “He is the counterpart of his father and therefore we can expect a lot from his off-spring.” Two of them were also in the lots at the sales days: Dominus (out of Linta du Purga x Lintas Boy R), gelding, born 2009; and Dilamona Grischuna (out of Luna Grischuna x Lucky Dream ex Joost, mare, born 2010...
