Just short while after the conclusion of the dressage FEI-WBFSH World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Ermelo, the elite youngsters of KWPN had to present themselves fresh and happy once again at their own studbook championships.

The six-year-old stallion Imposantos repeated his win from last year, while five-year-old Johnny Depp (Bordeaux x Jazz) bred by Naber in Vredenhem, and shown by young mother Renate Van Uijtert-van Vliet, defeated Jameson in his age-group.
Meanwhile, the KWPN-approved Governor son Keano RS2 (out of AJ Wendy ster pref IBOP-dres x Krack C, bred by  P.J.N. Smit) demonstrated a beautiful natural posture and very rhythmical gaits with Marieke van der Putten, for victory ahead of his colleague, the approved stallion Kjento (Negro - Zoriana elite pref IBOP-dres PROK x Jazz), bred by Van Os from Sprang-Capelle. According to the judges, his power is hardly ever seen at this age.
Under the saddle of both Renate van Uijtert and guestrider Philip Hess, Johnny Depp presented a swinging and happy image. His energy and willingness to please his riders and to work achieved a maximum 10. Sadly, Jameson  (Blue Hors Zack x Negro) who shied and became too tense in the walk, and despite all his other wonderful qualities, had to be satisfied with second place.
Imposantos (Wynton x Krack C, bred by Willy Wijnen), last year’s five-year-old winner, repeated his win at the age of six. The stallion really imposed himself and was awarded a 10 by rider Philip Hess to prove himself the very best of young horses. In conclusion, Hess said; “A horse like this you seldom see. Above all it’s the greatest proof of success for his breeder, Willy Wijnen, who just received the KWPN breeder-of-the-year prize.”..To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
