The international showjumping community is mourning the loss of one of its true legends. Action-Breaker, Sergio Álvarez Moya’s inseparable partner for more than a decade has passed away at the age of 26.

Becoming one of the legendary stallions of sport horse breeding, the story began when Action-Breaker (Heartbreaker [KWPN] - Jarme van’t Steentje [BWP] x Lys de Darmen [SF]) arrived at Sergio’s stable as a three-year-old. From that moment on, horse and rider travelled the international circuit together until the stallion retired from sport at the end of the 2014 season, when he embarked on an equally successful career at stud.
Together they represented Spain at the FEI World Equestrian Games in Lexington (2010) and Caen (2014). They also claimed the team silver medal and finished fifth individually at the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy.
Among their most memorable achievements were third place in the Rolex Grand Prix of the five-star CSIO Aachen in 2010, seventh in the same Grand Prix in 2011, and runner-up in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Cannes. Without question, Aachen’s massive grass arena became the venue where Action-Breaker showcased his exceptional talent and established himself among the elite of international showjumping.
Following his retirement from competition, Action-Breaker proved equally outstanding as a breeding stallion. Bred by Arnold van Tentergem in Belgium, Heartbreaker, out of Jarme van’t Steentje by Lys de Darmen, and registered with the Belgian Warmblood (BWP) studbook, he was approved by several of Europe’s leading breeding associations, including Hanoverian, Holsteiner, Oldenburg, and KWPN...
