Alberta Warmblood breeders assembled at Olds Alberta, September 24 for the 2023 Foal Futurity and Mare Show. The very popular Foal Futurity is funded each year through the Stallion Service Auction, from the previous year.

Five foals from service auction-nominated stallions receive a portion of the prize money. It is a fun and lucrative event; this year just shy of €3,000 in prize money, with six stallions in the spotlight represented by eight foals.
Jumper bloodlines predominated with top place going to Hello Dolly HUE bred by Alberta Chapter President Cathy Chalack. Sired by the stallion Cabardino and out of a mare by Chiquitin La Silla, this bay filly was exceptionally harmonious and expressive. Cabardino, imported by prominent breeder, Augustine Walsh, has been immensely popular throughout North America, as a hunter sire. He has 94 offspring in the CWHBA studbook.
Chalack was also the breeder of the runner-up foal, Ulterra Diva Blue Ivy by Quidam Blue out of a mare by Indoctro. A former competitive jumper himself, Quidam Blue is a popular futurity sire. Imported by Gerrit and Ute Brinkmann, he also sired the third-place foal, Quervo out of the mare Taquilla by Vermouth 858. Bred for jumping, a grandson of Quidam de Revel, Quidam Blue’s foals nevertheless exhibited elevated and elastic movement... To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
