ANCADES 2023 National Final: Gold for Tik Tak de Pravia

Over four days, from September 7-10, just over 250 horses participated in the ANCADES 2023 Spanish National Horse Championship Final at the Castilla y León Equestrian Center in Segovia, which saw the JGF and El Maset stud farms as the great protagonists.

The program included classes for the four-, five-, six-, and seven-year-olds in the ANCADES cycle finale (Spanish eventing for these age groups will be held in October in Dehesa Montenmedio), the Spanish National Horses Championship, the Spanish Championship for Studfarms, as well as a competitions for two- and three-year-old horses.
Cornet Obolensky (Clinton - Rabana van Costersveld x Heartbreaker) and Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve (Narcos II - Olympia van de Krekebeke x Laudanum xx), with eight offspring, were the most represented sires.
The important number of participating horses, as well as their origins and presentation have seen notable evolutions in recent years as a result of the interest for breeders in having more important horses.
The Spanish National Horse Championship over two rounds with a jump-off saw 25 entries, eight more than the 2022 edition, and with two horses from Yeguada Pravia, the breeding project of the Álvarez Moya brothers, on the podium. Three horses, in fact, completed two rouds without the three best classified
Three horses finished both rounds without incurring faults, necessitating a jump-off for the medals. The winner was Tik Tak de Pravia , with Javier González Fraga – a 10-year-old CDE son of Action Breaker, a stallion who achieved great success with Sergio Álvarez Moya. His dam, Ceesy III Z, is Zangersheide registered, and was born at the Belgium III studfarm. She is a daughter of Chopin vh Moleneind, a son of Quick Star, ridden by the Dane Thomas Velin.
The silver medal was winned to Quizás C, with Pedro Fernando Mateos. He is an 11-year-old CDE son of Kannan and Hoopoe, a daughter of the French stallion Guille Rock. Quizás C was born in Yeguada Campo Cerrado, the birthplace of Fardón (Corland - Cañada, x Mezcalero), who participated in the Caen 2014 World Championship with the Finnish Anna-Julia Kontio.
Femme de Pravia (Diamant de Semilly - Une Femme Terrible x Nimmerdor) won bronze with Iván Serrano. Her dam, is a sister to Himmerdor – the stallion who competed with Swiss Paul Freimüller in the 2001 European Championship in Arnhem. Before being imported into Spain, Une Femme Terrible had a BWP-registered son in Belgium by Action Breaker, Elixir ST, a winner of two international Grand Prix classes with Spain’s Carlos López-Fanjul...
