The final young horse championship of the season will begin at the heart of Le Lion d'Angers on October 21, and includes a CCE orientation when 18 three-year-olds will compete for a title won by Hypnosis Grez Neuville in 2020. This competition for 'Eventing Hopefuls' will take place in three stages: free jumping, model and gait, and ridden jumping. Among the leading sires represented will be youngsters by Contendro (Holst), Jaguar Mail (SF), Upsilon AA, Malito de Reve (SF), Casall Mon(Holst), L'Arc de Triomphe (Oldbg), and Cornet Obolensky/ex Windows vh Costersveld (BWP).
The four-day program begins on Thursday, October 21, with a free jumping workshop from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the studfarm's indoor school, while Friday, October 22 is devoted to a model workshop from 9:00 to 11:00 in the studfarm courtyard. as well as a gaits and ridden jumping workshop from 4:30 to 6:00 at Le Pontet arena.
Thursday, October 21 will also see the opening dressage day of the WBCYH starting at 9:00 a.m. for six-year-olds, and 1:00 p.m. for seven-year-olds, with the same timetable for Friday, October 22.
Saturday, October 23 puts the six-year-old horses on the cross-country course at 10:00, followed at 1:00 p.m. for the older age group.
Sunday, October 24: Showjumping begins at 11:00 a.m. for six-year-olds, and 2:30 p.m. for seven-year-olds, with the prize-giving and closing ceremony starting at 4:00 p.m.
