Great success for CWHBA Alberta Chapter Fall Classic Sale

This year marked the 27th consecutive Fall Classic Sale presented by CWHBA-Alberta Chapter when the sales team gathered together an impressive catalogue of top youngsters and riding horses.

The first category included the weanling group where some incredibly well-bred youngsters went for record prices, and the top-priced dressage colt,  Deutsch Deniro (Hann: De Niro x Romanov) saw a final bid of $49,500. He will now travel to his new home in BC. The second high seller, also going to BC, was Canadian Warmblood  Real Deal (Daily Deal x Florencio I) at $17,500. The average price for this group of youngsters hit $18,700, with some who will be heading south into the U.S.

The yearling group included the beautiful Ulterra Giselle (CWHBA: Gare du Lyon x Indian Artbeat) who sold for $16,500, just ahead of the jumper-bred Poker Face (CWHBA: Adequan Z x Contender) at $15,500.

The two-year-old category saw an incredible average price of $19,600 with no horse selling below $12,000. Heading the price stakes was the handsome Zinfandel (Hann: Zinedream x Viscount) who will be one of 12 heading to Oregon. The second high seller was the talented dressage prospect Ser Jaimie ST (Sir Gregory x Rotspon) who will be staying in Alberta.

The prospects under saddle category saw some of the best horses the Fall Classic Sale has had the pleasure of presenting, selling for an average price of $29,900. Estrella del Norte (CWHBA: Jethro Tull x Chiquitin La Silla) a first-class hunter prospect, attracted a final bid of $62,500 – a sale record. At $56,000, the ultra-talented jumper Daphne (CSH: Diamant de Semilly x Mylord Carthago) will now be making her way to Ontario.

This sale has grown into a popular marketplace for breeders consigning their top horses, with 84% being sold for an average of $19,900. A total of 25 horses were sold outside Alberta, with 12 making their way to the U.S.
