GERMANY (by Sonja Grob) She was the little star of the 59th foal auction of the Baden Württemberg breeding association foal auction in Riedlingen: Dance for Rio (Dante Weltino - Tia Royal x Rubin Royal), a very dark black filly.

The appearance of the Dante Weltino (Danone I - Rihanna x Welt Hit II) daughter had already been a highlight during the presentation of the 52 foals consigned to the auction. Her father was nominated for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, but had to be withdrawn due to an injury. The little beauty from breeder Hans Claus of Altheim was sold for the highest price of €14,500 ($16,280).

The second highest price was paid for a dressage filly. Breeder Ernst Rus from Gingen was pleased that the little mare Zazou (Zalando - Fabrice x Fabriano), a winner at the previous show held in Leutkirch, Ger- many, achieved €11,700 ($13,130).
