Year after year, the Westfalian stallion licensing marks a highlight on the breeding calendar, with special highlights for everyone who lives and loves Westfalian sport horse breeding. This year it will take place December 1-3 in Handorf.
The stallions, presented on the breed-specific licensing days, are the result of the passion of breeders, owners, training centres, and all those who put their trust in and remain loyal to Westfalian horse breeding. Initially identified through a pre-selection process, we admire the best stallions of the new crop during the approvals, and in the company of like-minded people.
In the beginning, there is always hope – a hope that usually arises from experience, expert opinions. and evaluations. In Handorf, the respective licensing commissions have the responsibility once a year to decide whether these hopes are fulfilled, or not, and determine which stallions receive the licensing title, which are honoured with a premium, and who emerges as the celebrated licensing winner...
