Demand for dual-talented horses for both competitive and leisure riding remains high. The Baden-Württemberg Horse Breeders'’ Association (Pferdezuchtverband Baden-Württemberg e.V.) enjoyed significant customer interest at the fourth edition of its DSP Eventers Auction.
The 14-horse collection, presented as part of the CCI4* eventing show in Marbach, was led by the incredibly light-footed and powerfully jumping grey Chac-Boom. The four-year-old Charthago Blue x Quidams Rubin son, bred by Christin Eilers, sparked a lengthy German-Swiss bidding duel, in which a highly talented young rider from Lower Saxony ultimately prevailed, winning the bid at €46,000.
Two auction candidates fetched €31,000: the licensed and already highly successful six-year-old pony stallion Relax (Rob Roy van het Klavertje x Manchester; breeder: Anja and Lukas Vahrmann), and the extremely talented four-year-old Roumer (Edinburgh x Whitesnake; breeder: the Versteegen family). The latter was sold to Bavaria prior to the auction via the ‘Buy It Now’ option, which was offered for the first time.
Young buyers were generally very active, purchasing, for example, the six-year-old Gin-Tonic (Gentleman x Josr Algarhoud xx; breeder: Birgit Grune – €20,000), the five-year-old Olympia (Origi D'O x Kannan; breeder: Blandfort-Weinberg GbR – €25,000), and the seven-year-old Durel (Calidrio x Discar; breeder: Bruno Gehricke, Tangeln – €25,000)...
