For the first time, the September auction of the Bavarian Horse Breeders Association was integrated into a sporting event when the well-known Wiesn tournament of the Reitakademie München e.V. offered a top-class setting for the collection of the 17th Bavarian Elite Warmblood Foal Auction selected by Sales Manager Norbert Paul.

In compliance with strict conditions, the first and only auction of the year was held in wonderful weather and in front of well-filled stands in the venerable Olympic riding arena.
The vet check the previous evening and the first presentation at lunchtime on the Saturday attracted many interested parties and the foals caused quite a stir before the first chairman of the regional association Georg Ochs opened the auction punctually at 5:00 p.m. Following his brief address, auctioneer Thorsten Castle took over the microphone and made the first offer of the evening, a large-framed filly by Gouvernant VDL x Dimaggio bred by Gabriele Eder, Osterhofen, who went under the hammer successfully for €7,000.
A young aspirant stallion by Vingino out of a Levantos I dam, who saw the light of day at Franz Hauschka’s in Markt Nordheim, has already blossomed from a birth chestnut to a handsome grey. As number two in the catalogue, he’d already made the hearts of some bidders beat faster and so the rosewood hammer came down at €9,000 after an exciting bidding duel...
