A son of Secret x Sarkozy, Sir Lui achieved the top price of €27,000 at the fourth edition of the Verden Foal Spring auction, when an average of just over €9,259 was paid for the 26 foals of the 2021 vintage.

The first lively bidding of the evening was for Savanna, the Sezuan's Donnerhall x Don Crusador daughter (bred and exhibited by  Reinhard Wilms GbR, Hinte), who attracted 46 bids before the hammer fell at €26,500 to German customers. The exact same customers struck lucky a second time by also securing Sir Lui (bred and exhibited by Zuchtgemeinschaft Dittmer, Rhade). His dam, Hanoverian Pr.St. Scalett, has already sent four foals to new owners via the Verden auction.

The top-priced foal with a showjumping pedigree was Damion (Dominator Z x For Pleasure), bred and exhibited by  Zuchtgemeinschaft Krieger Lohmann, Hückeswagen). This bay youngster was selected by the Verden auction team during a joint selection event with the Rhineland Studbook in Wickrath.

The Verden Foal Spring continues on a two-week cycle, with the next online auction dates being: June 14 to 17 and June 28 to July 1.
