NTERNATIONAL (by Aurélie Covini) The end of September is probably the most important period for auctions, especially for foals. We are now seeing and more auctions, with more foals and embryos sold – close to 1,000 horses in one month! The top price was for a dressage stallion, Kaiser Milton, during the ‘Stallion Market’ of the Trakehner Verband, who sold for €320,000 to the Klosterhof Medingen stables in Bad Bevensen, Germany.

Kaiser Milton was licensed on October 21, and crowned champion of the Trakehner stallion inspection. Bred by A.J.W. Aaan de Stegge, he is a son of super sire Millennium, while his dam, Kaiser’s Els, is a full-sister to the highly successful full brothers, Kaiserkult TSF (Dorothée Schneider) and Kaiserdom TSF (Katrin Meyer zu Strohen). As a foal, in 2015, Kaiser Milton was sold to a Dutch owner, Jan Pieter Dalsem from Den Hoorn during the Prinsjesdag Foal Auction.

Many other sales showed good results like the Klosterhof Medingen sales during their autumn exhibition. Amazing Boy (Don Roman- tic x Michellino) sold for €250,000 to a dressage stable in Stade and will now be prepared by Emma Kaner va for high level, while Harlekin, a licensed Oldenburger stallion by De Niro x Pik Noir, went under the hammer for €245,000 – the second and third highest prices this month, respectively...
