Around 50 carefully selected foals comprise the collection of the traditional Holsteiner Elite Foal Auction, which will take place as part of the Holsteiner Foal and Family Festival on August 14/15 at the association’s grounds in Elmshorn

On August 14, a collection reflecting the broad spectrum of modern Holsteiner showjumping breeding will go under the hammer at Herbert-Blöcker-Platz. The collection includes offspring of internationally sought-after sires such as Million Dollar, Cascadello I, Uriko and his son United Way, Chacotage Blue, Ogano Sitte, Kassander van’t Roosakker, and Pegase van’t Ruytershof – alongside foals by up-and-coming young stallions such as Vigado, Duplexx, and Kantato.
The first auction foals by the four-year-old stallions Cognac and the former Holsteiner champion stallion Conchezz are eagerly anticipated. Both placed second and third, respectively, at the Holsteiner State Championships in June. Their debut crops will be presented at the Elite Foal Auction, raising high expectations for their breeding qualities. Conchezz, a son of Colestus, in particular, has already garnered attention at the Hörup and Falsterbo auctions with his highly successful foals.

Masterful lineage

Exemplifying the exceptional quality of the collection is lot number two, King Charles (Calido I x Caretino) from the renowned Holsteiner dam line 776. His granddam, Operette, is one of the most important broodmares in the Holsteiner population. Her successful offspring include Vienna Olympic (ridden by Sheikh Ali Khalid Al Thani [QTR]), a finalist at the 2010 World Championships in Caen; the licensed stallions Forino by For Pleasure; Diamant de Operette (Diamant de Semilly) (both owned by Diarmuid Howley [IRL]); and the former Holsteiner champion stallion Cahil by Cornet Obolensky (owned by Lucas Wenz [GER])...
