Lucky number 13: Top Hanoverian seller in Verden, Salvatore

With lucky head number 13, Salvatore (Secret x Don Martillo) was sold to the U.S. for €34,000.

A total of 89 foals were part of the lot at the Hanoverian Society’s 52nd Elite Foal and Broodmare Auction. At the racetrack grounds in Verden, the top-class young stock showed itself at its best

Leading the way was the colt Salvatore, who left the auction ring bound for the U.S. as the top seller for €34,000. “The Elite Foal Auction is a successful kickoff for the
coming weeks, during which Verden will be at the center of horse breeding and equestrian sports with the Hanoverian Foal Championship, the Herwart von der Decken Show, and – as the international highlight – the FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses,” said auctioneer Bernd Hickert.
Lot number 13 proved to be a lucky number. There was great international interest in Salvatore (Secret x Don Martillo; breeder and exhibitor: ZG Grobe, Wendeburg). Ultimately, a buyer from the U.S. prevailed over his Spanish competitor and purchased the powerful black colt from the dam line of Emsbotin. Three years ago, his half-brother Symphatico (Segantini) had already been the top seller at an online auction during the Verden Foal Spring...
