Rain did not dampen exciting bidding duels in Riedlingen

Rainy weather and lively bidding duels characterized the 68th Riedlingen Foal Market 2025. Despite the somewhat mixed weather forecast, spectators flocked to the banks of the Danube and lined the Riedlingen fairgrounds.

In addition, many customers traveled from all over Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, with around 700 seated tickets being sold. Two additional tents were set up at short notice, so that the vast majority of spectators were able to sit in the dry and thus follow the presentation of the high-quality collection in good spirits.
The auction kicked off with a saddle blanket hand-signed by the German European championship team, presented by European champion Richard Vogel himself, and the Mini Shetland gelding Bibolino. The proceeds of €1,750 (saddle pad) and €3,500 (pony) will go to the ‘Horses for Our Children’ association. The idea for this wonderful initiative came from the chairman of the Riedlingen Horse Breeding Association, Udo Traub, who celebrated the 75th anniversary of his breeding association this year.
The foal auction was lively, and a very cheerful auctioneer, Hendrik Schulze Rückamp, ​​was able to accept many bids live on site and online. The online bidding option, which has been available since the coronavirus pandemic, was particularly well-used this year, and 11 foals were ultimately sold to new customers via the hybrid system. However, the top price, Elias E, was secured by a well-known customer from Portugal over the phone for €32,000. The impressively poised stallion prospect by Birkhof stallion Esperanto was bred by Georg Ederle, who has already bred many top horses from his mare line...
