The Holsteiner Verband held two foal auctions on July 11. At both the Springflut Festival in Hörup and the Falsterbo Horse Show in Sweden, the young Holsteiner talents on offer impressed with their quality and sparked the interest of national and international buyers.
The auction in Falsterbo, Sweden, was extremely successful. With an average price of almost €17,500 and a 100% sales rate, the auction once again underscored the international demand for Holsteiner genetics. The top price of €30,000 was achieved by U-Stutsborgs Zara by Zuccero x Emerald van het Ruytershof, bred by Stutsborgs Youngsters (Denmark) and under Norwegian ownership. The filly’s pedigree predictably generated considerable interest as her granddam is the prominent Echo van’t Spieveld daughter Kaprice, who competed internationally up to the 1m60 under the saddle of Kent Farrington (USA) and comes from the renowned Belgian Roosakker dam line.
The top price in Hörup was achieved by the colt Echo von Hörup P by Echo van’t Spieveld x Marome NW, bred by the Timm Peters and Matthias Bärtschi partnership (Bargenstedt). This foal also impressed with genetics of international caliber. His dam is none other than Geert-Jan Bruggink’s lightning-fast, successful mare Andrea. The promising youngster was sold for €23,000 to Kühl & U.P. Showjumping. Foals at the Springflut Festival averaged around €12,500, with a 93% sales rate...
