The Spanish Championships for Young Horses in showjumping and dressage were hosted by the Dehesa Montenmedio facilities, within the framework of the IVth edition of the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, from October 8-13.

The Spanish Showjumping Championship for Young Horses was divided into three categories (five-, six-, and seven-year-olds), while the Dressage Championship included categories for four-, five-, and six-year-olds, as well as eight- and nine-year-old horses. Both championships are open to horses from all studbooks, with the Spanish Sport Horse Book (CDE) winning two very well-deserved gold medals.
In the Spanish Showjumping Championship for six-year-olds, two CDEs in an ascending line took first and second place, with Pop Up, ridden by his breeder Inés Hernández Yanguas, winning gold. He is a son of Sir Obolensky Z and Noblesse Z (Noble Sire), a mare registered with Zangersheide who made her sporting career in Spain.
The silver medal was won by another CDE, Arezzo de Llamosas, a son of Arezzo VDL and Cartalma (the dam of Luchino, who competed with Spain’s Sergio Álvarez Moya and Denmark’s Emil Hallundbaek). Ridden by Fidel Dávila, Arezzo de Llamosas was part of the CDE team at the WBCYH in Lanaken in 2023, winning two five-year-old classes.
The second gold medal for CDE came in the Spanish Dressage Championship for five-year-olds won by Secret CS. In 2023 the stallion was amongst the best in the four-year-old age group and alreadu has 10 offspring registered in the Spanish Sport Horse (CDE) book. Bred by Yeguada Carrascal de Sanchiricones, Secret CS is a son of Secret and Delinda CS (Delinger), ridden by Alba Abollo.

Ridden by U-25 Spanish rider Sergio Moron, the gold medal for four-year-old dressage horses went to Flanagan Elton. Registered with Danish Warmblood, Flanagan Elton was imported from Denmark by his rider along with other young horsrs, such as Sick-Sack – another son of Secret – also ridden by Moron...
