Holsteiner Verband Vermarktungs und Auktions GmbH recently celebrated an eventful weekend, simultaneously hosting two foal auctions: one at the Springflut (Springtide) Festival in Hörup, and one at the CSIO in Falsterbo, Sweden.
In Hörup, Hörup’s Heartbreaker (Heartbreaker) became the top price, while in Falsterbo it was Stockholm (Catoki) that generated the greatest enthusiasm.
Hörup’s Heartbreaker
It was a long bidding duel between two interested parties on site that sparked Hörup’s Heartbreaker. The son of the legendary Heartbreaker comes from Madmoiselle de Muze (Elvis ter Putte), who in turn comes from the dam of Mylord Carthago and Bakmako de Muze. The breeding association Peters/Bärtschi (Bargenstedt) exhibited this stallion candidate, with the genetic rarity raising €25,000 and going to customers in North Friesland.
Quick Classic HaS (Quick Star x Qlassic Bois Margot) from Holsteiner line 104A was also very well priced. The Hof am Sylvert owned by the Rörden family (Witsum/Föhr) brought this colt to the auction, and he was knocked down for €15,500.
Sunflower, a daughter of United Way x Casall (Silke Zuba, Wesselburen), was also very popular. From line 18A2, the filly has numerous 1m50 and 1m60 jumpers in her bloodline.
On average, customers spent some €11,430 at a foal at the auction in Hörup. “This evening we experienced the fourth edition of our joint auction with the Holsteiner Association as part of the Springtide Festival,” said tournament director Stephan Johannsen after the auction. “We can be very satisfied with the result. I am particularly pleased that most of the foals were bought by customers on site and auctioned off, and some of them even stayed in the region.”..
