Two sales, one last chance to buy Ireland’s best young event horses. The Monart Sale and the Goresbridge ‘Go For Gold’ sale bring Ireland’s finest young event horses to County Wexford this November.

As the 2026 eventing season draws to a close, the Irish Horse Board is delighted to remind riders, owners, and buyers around the world that two of Ireland’s premier event horse sales take place in County Wexford this November. The Monart Sale runs from November 2-5, and the Goresbridge ‘Go For Gold Select Event Horse Sale’ follows from November 9-11. Both catalogues are available online, and together the two sales offer the last major opportunity this year to secure a future champion bred and produced in Ireland.

Irish horses at the top in 2026

There has never been a better advertisement for the Irish Sport Horse. At Blenheim Palace in September, Irish-bred horses filled four of the top five places in the CCI4*L, with Tom McEwen riding The Fieldmaster (ISH)(Future Trend [Oldbg] - Beauty Ruby [ISH] x Sunny Boy [KWPN]) to victory, and Brookfield Quality (ISH)(OBOS Quality 004 [Oldbg] - Bay Coffee Cavalier [ISH] x Cavalier Royale [Holst]) into second place.
In June, Bubby Upton and Its Cooley Time (ISH: Quality Time TN [Holst] - Arabella [ISH] x Heartbreaker [KWPN]), bred at Ennisnag Stud in County Kilkenny, retained their Bramham CCI4*L title, with Cooley Snapchat (ISH) (Kannan GFE [KWPN] - Anabee Arkansas [ISH] x Arkansas VDL [KWPN]) runner up.
At five star level, Annaghmore Valoner (ISH)(Coroner xx - Annaghmore Lady Valier [ISH] x Black Walter [ISH]), bred in Offaly by Sinead Healion, finished third at Badminton with Harry Meade. HHS Blake/ex Redfield Galway Blake (ISH)(Tolan R [KWPN] - Doughiska Lass [ISH] x Kannan GFE) was second at Kentucky and third at Burghley with Caroline Pamukcu, and four Irish bred horses finished in the top 10 at Burghley. Every one of these stars was once a promising young horse. This November, your next one could be waiting in Wexford.

The Monart Sale: November 2-5

Founded in 2010 and run by riders, The Monart Sale presents a hand-selected group of three year olds at Monart Equestrian, Enniscorthy. More than 100 horses have been chosen from around 400 entries by a panel of five-star eventing riders: Polly Jackson, Niall Griffin, Sue Shortt, and Bill Levett. Every horse is vetted by a veterinary panel headed by Olympic team vet Marcus Swail, and radiographs can be requested for review by your own vet...
