The Marbach Weekend 2023 is literally champing at the bit, with the Baden-Wurttemberg Breed Registry organizing the event that takes place October 28/29, 2023. It includes a stallion licensing under saddle, alongside a regional pony stallion licensing, as well as the finals of the Gert Gussmann Cup, the breed association cup, and the kids cup.
Saturday's Gala Night will entertain spectators in the indoor arena of the Principal and State Stud Marbach with a fascinating variety of shows and demonstrations, including a presentation of the Marbach and Birkhof Stud stallions, a showcase featuring Wadenspanner Stud's top stallion DSP Va Bene, and Tina Deurer exhibiting DSP Emrado D, the recent winner of the Biesingen-Hohenzollern Grand Prix.
Saturday's daytime program opens with the licensing under saddle and the regional pony stallion licensing, for which some 20 stallions have been entered.
The weekend's Grand Finale is the DSP Sport Horse Auction at 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoon, comprising talented young horses plus some select warmblood and pony stallions. Auctioneer Hendrik Schulze-Ruckamp will expertly swing his gavel.
The dressage horse selection includes well known bloodlines such as Bohemian, For Romance I, Le Formidable, Topas, and Zack. Reserve world champion Secret is represented as well in one of the offers, and the highly successful Valverde genes can be found in two spectacular mares. The spectrum includes everything from a green three-year-old to an experienced M-level (third level) dressage horse. As in previous years the catalogue also includes options for customers preferring a more comfortable and reliable ride, not necessarily in the competition arena.
The selection of jumpers is impressive, to say the least, with a powerful yet very rideable product of Casino Berlin, who was highly successful himself over 1m60. Other represented sires include Crack, Zinedine, Brantzau VDL, Diego de Semilly, and Halifax van het Kluizebo – guaranteeing athletic youngsters. Thoroughbred Nice Danon xx also has two very appealing sons as well.
