Just one week after the Longines WBFSH World Breeding Championships for Young Horses, a few youngsters returned to Ermelo for the KWPN Pavo Cup Young Horse Championships, won by Extreme US (4yo), Everest (5yo), and Mac Toto (6yo) – and overall trophy winner.
As mentioned above, the four-year-old winner in the semi-finals was Extreme US (Escamillo - Viva Contana x Vivaldi, breeder: Paul Schockemöhle/Gestut Lewitz). Renate van Uytert-Van Vliet continued to ride on the wave of success and went on to win the finals, both in rounds one and two.
Judges Patrick van der Meer, Tim Coomans, and Joyce van Rooijen-Heuitink rewarded the German-licensed stallion with a 90.6 in first final round, while test rider, Grand Prix rider Daniel Bachmann, favoured the gaits, rideability, and potential of this stallion the most in round two – awarding the horse a 10. With 88.0 in the semi-finals, 90.6 in the finals, plus an additional 10, Extreme US took the Pavo Cup victory with 278.60 points. For Renate van Uytert it was her third Pavo Cup title.
Runner up was KWPN stallion One Million (Vivaldi - Joyrider elite IBOP drs Prok x Apache, breeder: M.H.J. Gotink) shown by Robin Heiden. Daniel Bachman rewarded him with 9.6, saying, “His name is well chosen, he is one-in-a-milion”.
In the bronze medal position a mare: Oxxi-Lena (Secret - Helena elite sport dress IBOP x Don Tango B, breeder: Myra Dicker), The mare was shown by Annemijn Boogaards and rewarded with 9.50 from Bachmann... To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
