Brazilian Sport Horse mare Chevaux Primavera Montana Império Egípcio (Calvaro Z x Paroli) has been standing out on the international equestrian circuits as a portrayer of the power of Brazilian sports and national breeding.
Under the saddle of Brazilian international Stephan Barcha, the 11-year-old mare won a bronze medal before an enthusiastic audience in the 1m60 Rolex Grand Prix during the prestigious 90th CSIO5* Grand Prix.
Taking place in the the iconic Piazza di Sienna in Rome, the class saw 50 pairs line up at the start of the competition, of which only 13 qualified for the second-round-course designed by Uliano Vezzani. Stephan and Chevaux Primavera Montana Império Egípcio recorded a spotless performance, crossing the finish line in 47:46 seconds, resulting in their third-place finish and a prize of €75,000. The class was won by German showjumper Andre Thieme and DSP Chakaria (Chap I x Aksari) with zero faults in 42:64 seconds.
Despite their short presence in Europe, the Brazilian pair has already been recognized and appreciated at the main events of the circuit. In particular, during the Nations Cup in Rome when they were the only Brazilian partnership to complete the 1m60 course with zero faults – although their team’s 12-fault total was outside the qualifying standard for the second round. They finished the competition in ninth place. Similarly, Barcha and Chevaux Primavera Montana Império Egípcio placed ninth individually among 40 other pairs.
At the beginning of May, the pair celebrated victory in the four-star 1m55 Grand Prix in Montefalco, Italy, by completing the jump-off in 48:41 seconds... To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
