The 2023 foal season is in full swing, with tomorrow’s young talents born here, there, and everywhere just waiting to be discovered. The starting signal to do so is May 18, at the venerable green in Klein Fottbek during the German Jumping and Dressage Derby.

For the sixth time now, the organizers are allowing a hand-picked foal collection to be put up for auction. The auction takes place on Thursday, May 18, around 17:30 (CET) ahead of the Championship of Hamburg, with the young talents being presented to the public around noon.
This exclusive collection, selected by executive director Felix Flinzer, comprises around 10 foals, including offspring by Casall, Emerald van’t Ruytershof, Zirocco Blue, Uriko, Million Dollar, and Zuccero, as well as sons and daughters of younger sires like, for example, the Comme il faut son Charaktervoll, or Keaton (Kannan). Moreover, a special offering comes in the form of a colt foal by Cornet Obolensky out of a full sister to Million Dollar.
In case you’re unable to attend in Hamburg or your bidding is not successful, there will be more opportunities to buy during the following events:
• May 27, during the Zeiskam Whitsun Horse Show
• June 10, in Elmshorn within the framework of the Holsteiner Horse Days
• July 9 at the Hörup Spring Tide Festival
• July 15 during the CSIO Falsterbo in Sweden
• August 19 at the Elmshorn Elite Foal Auction.
For further information about the foals to be auctioned during the Hamburg Derby hybrid auction, please do not hesitate to contact Felix Flinzer (+49 162 3493942) with any questions, or see online information available from early May: holsteiner.auction.
