Edward Gal won a remarkable 12th Dutch national dressage title with a victory riding the nine-year-old Hannoverian- and KWPN-approved stallion Glock’s Total US (Totilas x Sir Donnerhall, bred by Gestüt Lewitz/Paul Schockemöhle) in the Grand Prix Freestyle (85,625%). Two other stallions completed the podium, 13-year-old Glock’s Dream Boy (Vivaldi x Ferro, bred by Tim Coomans) shown by Gal’s partner Hans Peter Minderhoud (81,610%), and nine-year-old KWPN-approved Hermès (Easy Game x Flemmingh, breeder G. Gijsbers) ridden by Dinja van Liere (81,025%).
On the first day of the NC Gal showed his two sons of Totilas, Total US and Toto Jr. in the Special, finishing first and second. His choice to ride the younger Totilas son to claim the Dutch title was even more special given that Dinja van Liere, who first rode Total US in competition, made her debut in this Dutch NC.
