Following its well-known format, the Westfalian main licensing was once again held over three days, when 55 dressage-orientated and 32 jumping-orientated stallions presented themselves to the licensing commission in Münster-Handorf.

In front of a large audience, breeding directors Katrin Tosberg and and Thomas Münch selected a total of 11 licensed dressage stallions and eight licensed showjumping stallions to be awarded with the premium title.

The setting could not have been more beautiful when the dressage-oriented stallions presented themselves in frosty temperatures and the rising sun at the Handorfer triangular track, representing a strong vintage.
Following the second presentation on the lunge line and the free-running third presentation, the licensing decisions, premium stallions, and the champion stallion were finally decided. A son of the proven Vitalis out of a dam by Fürst Jazz x Stedinger (breeder: ZG Harms, Großheide) secured the winner’s sash, with breeding director Thomas Münch attesting to the liver chestnut’s three outstanding and “beyond any doubt” basic gaits. In the subsequent auction, the movement artist, exhibited by BG Franz-Georg Ottmann and Thomas Berger, was knocked down to a Dutch stallion station for €850,000.
The first reserve title was secured by a Toto Gold x Floriscount son, who was discovered by his exhibitor Yara Reichert, at a Westfalian foal auction. The well-developed and typey liver-chestnut stallion impressed in particular with his masculine habitus, good body parts, and an impressive front end. He was also outstanding in the presentations with exceptional quality of movement. His breeder Ruth Volkwein, Ibbenbüren, was delighted with her vice champion...
