The results of Uvettas’ first offspring have not gone unnoticed. The broodmare from Yeguada El Maset is beginning to leave a lasting mark on the Spanish Sport Horse (CDE) studbook, opening what many already see as a new chapter, and demonstrating the importance of broodmares.
In modern sport horse breeding, broodmares play a decisive role in shaping and consolidating genetic lines. Their influence extends far beyond the number of foals they produce, reaching into the quality, performance, and long-term projection of their progeny in competition. Within this context, Uvettas has emerged as one of the mares defining an era in the CDE.
Her breeding record is proving particularly remarkable. Supported by advances in equine reproductive technologies, her list of descendants continues to grow, steadily expanding her presence within the national sport horse scene. Yet her significance lies not only in numbers, but in the consistent quality of her offspring.
Her earliest progeny are already making their mark in the arena, demonstrating the athletic potential transmitted through this maternal line. At the same time, younger generations are showing great promise, reinforcing expectations surrounding her genetic legacy.
From Yeguada El Maset, the breeding operation behind her development, the outlook is decidedly optimistic. “The production has been very strong. We believe each generation is surpassing the previous one,” they explain, convinced that the best sporting results from this line are still to come.
A Holsteiner mare by Quidam de Revel out of Girane (Lord), Uvettas also enjoyed a noteworthy sport career. Ridden by Italy’s Giovanni Consorti, she placed eighth in the six-year-old final at showjumping’s World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken. She later joined the stables of Imma Roquet, with whom she debuted on the Spanish senior team in the Nations Cup at the CSIO4* Lisbon in 2012, narrowly missing a double clear with rounds of zero and four faults. That same year, she was part of the Spanish team at the Young Riders European Championships and claimed individual gold at the Spanish Young Riders Championship.
Following her competitive success, Uvettas transitioned into breeding at Yeguada El Maset, Imma Roquet’s breeding project.
Her first offspring, Ivettus del Maset (Indret del Maset), went on to compete with Roquet in several 1m50 Grand Prix classes. Her second, Iovana del Maset, competes under French rider Jeanne Sadran. In 2025, one of her most promising performers to date, the bay mare Ridden by Spain’s Imma Roquet Autonell, Irivola del Maset (2015), delivered an outstanding season, showing her quality in competitions such as the Nations Cup at the Longines League of Nations Final (CSIO5* Barcelona) and later at CSI5CSI5*-W Casas Novas...
