The three best-placed horses in today's five-year-old small-tour received invitations for tomorrow's final of the Longines FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses. It's an important step as young horses do tend to show more quality as soon as the initial tension has been lifted.
The three invited horses are: KWPN stallion Maddox Mart (Hennessy x Bordeaux, breeder C.W. van Baalen) shown by Swedish Jessica Lynn Thomas who achieved 8.72 for first place. This black stallion owned by Gestut Schafhof was less tense than yesterday and, in fact, scored 9.5 for his trot. His rider, who recently celebrated success during the German ‘Bundeschampionate' was modest in saying; “A young stallion sometimes has different ideas in his head. I just hope to be without mistakes myself tomorrow. We’ll go for it.”
The Oldenburg bred gelding Galleria’s Summerville OLD (Sezuan 2 x Diamond Hit, breeder ZG Scherbring GbR) owned by Hanwha Hotels & Resorts Co Ltd and shown by Spanish rider Manuel Dominguez Bernal was awarded 8.9 for trot, for an overall score of 8.48.
The chestnut gelding Feuerfunke OLD (Franziskus 15 x Foundation 2, breeder Wieghaus-Vorwerk GbR) received the third invitation after scoring 9.0 for trot, 8.44 overall for his rider Mathis Goerens from Luxembourg.
