Swiss championship hosts age-group finals and foals

From September 17 to 19, all the best swiss-bred horses were on the ring to win a title in their category. Jumping horses, dressage horses, and foals followed each other on the course of the Institut Equestre National d’Avenches (IENA: Swiss National Equestrian Centre).

First, the best jumpers showed their skills on the large sand track of the IENA, with the highlight of the event being the final for Swiss horses aged nine and over, with obstacles measuring around 1m45, and the only pair to score a double clear round was Evelyne Bussmann and Cerano v Worrenberg CH (Ci Ci Senjor x Carpaccio), who had already won the seven-year-old final in 2018.
Second place went to Barbara Schnieper with Othello vom Eigen CH (Ouessant de Perhet x Carabas) – who became Swiss champions of the six-year-old age group in 2017 – ahead of Daniela Krebs and her faithful Chiccago K CH (Calvados Z x Lordanos), who competed at the CHIO Aachen with Paul Estermann in 2018.

In the final of the seven- and eight-year-old Superpromotion class, run over a 1m40 class, victory went to Alain Jufer. The Jurassien, now based in Elgg (ZH) with his friend Steve Guerdat, was riding Kosimo MM, a stallion son of Kannan, owned by Marlis Mühlebach. Second place went to Leopold des Laves CH, a son of Lord Fantasy KWG and Karondo v Schlösslihof KB, ridden by the renowned course builder Gérard Lachat, chef de piste at the CHI Geneva.
