Swedish Warmblood’s Equestrian Weeks were created to showcase the best horses within the three Olympic disciplines, showjumping, dressage, and eventing, and also featured Elite Auctions during each of the two weeks.
The Breeders Trophy (Swedish Warmblood’s young horse championships) as well as the Saab International Grand Prix dressage took place at Flyinge from September 25-29.
Alongside dressage at an elite level, the exciting young horse finals saw Olympic, European and World Cup champion Charlotte Dujardin test riding the four-year-old dressage horses.
The week’s Elite Auction took place on Friday, September 27 and was one of the week’s major highlights. Among the foals on offer, buyers were impressed by the prestigious bloodlines from coveted sires such as Vitalis, Franklin (Ampere x Ferro), Springbank II VH (Skovens Rafael x De Niro), Blue Hors Zackery (Blue Hors Zack - Overgaard’s Hit Me x Sandro Hit), and Suarez (Sezuan x Desperados).
In particular, lot number three saw Zygot – a Blue Hors Zackery colt out of a Totilas dam, while lot number 25 – Sparkling M – is an especially precious son of Negro (the sire of Dujardin’s legendary Valegro), out of a Desperodos mare, and a true blue blood for the dressage arena. Negro himself has an impressive list of merits as both a sire and in competition, being the runner-up of his stallion performance test in 1998, and top KWPN horse at the 2001 world championship for young horses. Thanks to the performances of his offspring, Negro has regularly featured among the WBFSH’s top sires for dressage.’
Breeders Trophy
From October 2-6, the Breeders Trophy in showjumping will commence and will see the young horse championship paired with an ‘open’ showjumping competition at a national level.
Following a day of exciting showjumping finals, the Swedish Warmblood Elite Auction for jumping foals and promising young horses (four to seven years of age), will take place on Saturday evening, October 5.
The auction of 30 showjumping horses will likewise create excitement among potential buyers, with sons and daughters of many of the breeding world’s currently most popular sires, including Cornet Obolensky/ex Windows vh Costersveld (Clinton x Heartbreaker), Diamant de Semilly (Le Tot de Semilly x Elf III), Chacco-Blue (Chambertin x Contender), Balou du Rouet (Baloubet du Rouet x Continue), and Cooper van de Heffinck (Caretino x Landlord).
The showjumping catalogue also includes several older horses: Xtrem Hästak (2015: Balou x Cortus), Lottie’s Diggi Steve (2015: Diarado x Oramé), Lamaze EK (2015: Darco x Zorro), Magic La Rose (2014: Magic Park x Voltaire), Baltzar (2014: Balou du Rouet x Acapulco Gold), K&T Debbie Harry (2014: Diamantino VDL x Cardento), and Corescel Girl (2013: Sandro Boy x Lasandos).
The jumping horse auction is organized in collaboration with Swedish Selected Horse Sales.
