The Swedish Warmblood Breeders Trophy is the young horse championships featuring four-, five-, and six-year-old SWB horses, where honour and prize money is at stake for the Swedish breeders. Horses are already declared for the Breeders Trophy as foals, and the prize money is awarded out of the declaration fees accumulated over time.

The SWB Breeders Trophy encompasses both dressage, showjumping and eventing, and 2022 provides a reason to celebrate. Thirty years have passed since the very first SWB Breeders Trophy event in 1992 – and with it comes one million Swedish krona (just under US$100,000) to be awarded to the breeders and owners of the top horses.
The SWB Breeders Trophy is a valuable link between sport and breeding and provides valuable direction for the future when breeding for future sport horses. Many successful SWB horses’ careers began here, and some even found their way to new owners.
“The SWB Breeders Trophy offers an important incentive for the breeders/owners to provide the young horse with a good foundation in training as well as potentially matching the horse with a new rider. Several of our breeders can tell you about good sales in conjunction with the event, it is truly an important meeting, and venue networking on a national as well as an international level,” says Helén Uddefors, CEO of SWB.
She continues by saying; “The primary aim of the Breeders Trophy is to reward the Swedish breeders and to inspire them to continue their work in breeding with the aim of producing fantastic, high-quality horses.” .. To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
