Every year, the Swedish Warmblood Association (SWB) awards the title of ‘Stallion of the Year’ to a sire that has demonstrated exceptional qualities through the international success of its offspring.
The award recognizes stallions that have significantly contributed to the Swedish breeding and equestrian sports. Additionally, SWB selects ”Rising Stallions” annually to highlight younger sires with promising results in breeding and sport.
Criteria for Stallion of the Year:
• A stallion whose offspring have demonstrated performance traits through international success;
• A stallion active in Swedish breeding;
• The award may be given posthumously;
• A stallion may receive the award more than once.
For the third time: Diarado
Diarado has been awarded as Stallion of the Year for the third consecutive year. He has 290 SWB-registered offspring, of which 89 have participated in young horse tests as three-year-olds, 18 in riding horse tests, and 168 have competed in show jumping. In 2019, Diarado was awarded the Elite status for his exceptional breeding contribution to SWB.

Twenty-four of his offspring have competed in S-class showjumping, with Diarado’s Rose ELiTH (SWB), Tornado (SWB), and After Eight (SWB) competing in 1m60 classes. Other notable offspring include Hästkullens DiMarabou (SWB), Disa DM (SWB), Mr Vain GJ (SWB), Diarado’s Love ELiTH (SWB), Doris Dayz KS (SWB), and Dior CC (SWB) competing at 1m50, along with fifteen additional progeny competing at 1m45.
